Chang had decades of #experience before he founded TSMC. : https://lnkd.in/eTKJv8H6 : #Chip #manufacturer TSMC produces essential parts for #ArtificialIntelligence #Systems, #Computers, #Phones, #Cars, and many #devices that are part of our daily lives.
Chang had such a long career in the chip business that he would have been a legend of his field even if he’d retired in 1985. Instead he reinvented himself. Then he revolutionized the chip industry. He was successful BECAUSE of his EXPERIENCE.
#Experienced #entrepreneurs are both more common and more productive than younger founders. And nobody personifies mid-life #entrepreneurship better than Chang, who worked in the U.S. for 3 decades before returning to #Taiwan and #built TSMC unlike any existing #semiconductor company. You probably use a #device with a #chip made by TSMC every day, but TSMC does not actually #design or #market those chips. That would have sounded completely absurd before TSMC’s innovative #chip #foundry #fab #business #model to exclusively manufacture chips that its #customers designed making TSMC indispensable to #global #economy while never needing to compete with own clients.
